From the Cheese Portraits series.

I had this thin wedge of the beautiful "King of Cheese" sent to me by a very generous patron. His collection represents good friends and family by their choice of favorite food or cheeses. A couple of his friends were touring the aging caves of a Parmigiano Reggiano maker and chose a wheel to be sent back home to the United States. This thin slice was cry-vac sealed and sent to me to paint and represent those friends on the wall with 40+ other "friend" paintings.

I loved how beautiful cheese is when sliced thin and seems like edible stained-glass.
