I was commissioned to paint this traditional Balkan cheese pastry that's a staple of the region. This flakey, appetizing dish is also known as a cheese pie and sometimes the pan is filled with one large spiral. This however, is most like how his mother-in-law makes it. I Couldn't get my hands on this dish in my area, but hope too soon. This painting was based on some photographs researched by my patron. Nonetheless, I was hungry the entire time I painted this!
