From the Cheese Portraits series.

Pete Messmer and his dad Steve, from Lively Run Dairy, stopped in and this was an extra cheese gift during recent studio visi. They wanted to bring me some of their beautiful "Cayuga Blue", which I had wanted to paint for some time. After painting the blue, I was happy to have this very beautiful and delicious model for its contrast. I was able to cut a thin wedge so I could play with a glowing cheese "porn" scenario. The orange-gold rind was a perfect belt around this wedge of shifting subtlety of colors between the opague and the translucency of the thin cut paste.

This firm pasteurized goat's milk cheese is aged for at least three months and to me, it tastes like a wonderful goat gouda. It's perfectly balanced as a nutty, and sweet and creamy delight. At room temperature it was like a dessert to me. I couldn't stop snacking on the extra bits on the side. I highly recommend this one for an easy pleaser of anyone. If you find someone that doesn't love this cheese, they may not be human.
