From the Cheese Portraits series.

Emmi of Switzerland makes some incredibly perfect cheeses and this giant wedge was sent to me to paint as part of a series. Actually, this wedge arrieved sealed in cryovac plastic and I had little choice but to paint it whole, as is. You see, I have no knives large enough to paint this traditional swiss cheese wedge that measured nearly 24 inches deep and close to 12" tall. It was a challenge to fit this monumental wedge onto an 8 x 8" surface.
